VH-AMH de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA466)
VH-AMH was one of the
Australian-built order for the Dutch East Indies and was destined to
have become PK-VVT. In
the event it was impressed into RAAF service as A17-624 follow-
ing the Japanese
invasion of the Dutch territory. It was withdrawn from service
in 1965 and
restored as VH-TIG. The two representative images of it here are
both from the Geoff
Goodall collection.
Above it is seen at West
Sale, Victoria in August of 1967 just as it was
ending its career as a crop
duster. The photo below, by Bob Neate, was taken somewhat
earlier at Moorabbin
in January 1961, whenit was still a standard two seater prior to having
a hopper installed in the front seat to become an agricultural
sprayer with Farm Air of Tinamba,
Victoria..
