VH-ALQ Stinson L-5 Sentinel
(c/n 76-2751)
Rough shot from the Frank Walters collection (via Geoff
Goodall) of a war surplus L-5, ex 42-99477,
outside Syd Marshall's
hangar at Bankstown, circa 1947. This Stinson has
the typical green with
red cheat line livery
with which several of its ilk were painted. It seems to
have had several periods
of lapsed CofAs but
appears to have been current until around 1955. (I
vaguely seem to remember
seeing it hanging on
the wall in the rear of of Marshall's hangar in my peregrinations
around Banks-
town in the early
1950s).
