VH-ALG (1) de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
(c/n 82371)
This Hatfield-built Tiger
was one of those which served with the RAAF but were never given A17-
serials, flying instead with its
RAF identity of N9270. The above shot, from the Lawrence
Roche
collection shows it at Echo Island in the Northern Territory in
1947. It had been flown up there by
Lawrence's father, Jack Roche (accompanied by Harry
Moss) for delivery to the mission station at
Echo Island. It was written off in
an accident at Darwin on 10 February 1952. .
