VH-AIS Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer
(c/n 540)
The minuscule rego VH-AIS (under the Scottish
Aviation rampant lion logo) can actually be read
on the
original of this print from a neg taken by Ern Flanders (via Geoff
Goodall) at Perth in May
1961. This 'Twin Pin' was the second to arrive in
Australia, being ex G-APPH. It was registered
to
Australian Iron and Steel at the time. Several owners later it
went to Aerial Agriculture Pty Ltd
of
Bankstown who used it as a freighter. Although currently owned
(2009) by Aviation Heritage
of
Coventry, UK, VH-AIS is on the current register, but actually stored
off airport at Coolangatta.
