VH-AGS Lockheed
L414-56 Hudson III
(c/n 6041)
The second VH-AGS was yet
another Hudson for Adastra Aerial Surveys. This had previously
seen service with East-West
Airlines as VH-EWA.
Originally dressed in a dull gray with white
top finish, Adastra adopted
several other color scheme over the years. My shot above and the
CAHS one below show it in this original drab livery at Bankstown in the
mid 1950s. When Greg
Banfield
saw it at Mascot in February
1969 (bottom of the page) it was painted with a sort of
orange-brown cheat line and
vertical
stabilizers and a blue lower fuselage and white
top. A
full
history of this aircraft and
photos of these various paint jobs
can be can be found on Ron
Cuskelly's
