VH-ABX (2)
Piper
PA-23-250 Aztec C
(c/n 27-3650)
This 1967 Aztec C was first registered in September of that year to a
private owner in NSW.
The two shots of it here, both from the Geoff Goodall collection, show
it (below) as N6373Y
at Orange, NSW
in July 1967 just after its delivery from the US, and (above) much
later in
May 1978 at Mackay, Qld when it was operated by
Lindeman Aerial Services Pty Ltd. It
was one of many Pipers imported by Jim
Hazelton's Hazair Sales & Service of Orange in the
mid 1960s and was
officially registered VH-ABX on 11 September 1967.
The 'C' Model
had
more
streamlined engine nacelles. In August 1997, while
privately owned,
the aircraft
crashed just after take-off from Borah, NSW on a
flight to Bourke. The single occupant/pilot
was killed.
